Video shows deadly confrontation between a family with a baby and a crowd at Seattle encampment – KIRO 7 News Seattle: Video evidence — obtained by KIRO-7 News through a public records request — shows what led up to a violent chaotic altercation between an angry group of people from a South Lake Union homeless encampment and a Seattle family with a two-week-old baby, who had gone to the encampment to locate items stolen from them in a recent car burglary.
A 30-year-old man who lived at the camp was run over and killed when the family was seen on video swerving the car in circles, trying to get away from the crowd damaging and surrounding their car.
Seattle police originally responded to a hit-and-run at 3 p.m. on July 27 at a large tent encampment at Dexter Avenue North and Mercer Street, according to court documents.
